We worked closely with the client in transforming what was a dark, cramped kitchen and an adjascent dysfunctional laundry/entry way into an open, illuminated, functional and beautiful space. We retained the older lovable qualities (stove, fur floors, bead board ceiling and wainscot) but removed walls and doors, introducing a distribution of light coming from all sides and from above. We custom build new cabinets and a designed a layout suited for joyful cooking and gathering plus a laundry space out of mind save for when top of mind nearby.
